The Challenge

During my experimentation of AI tools between 2022 and 2024, AI image generators were still primitive when it came to typography. The task seemed simple: generate stunning visual artworks featuring usernames with the "@" symbol at the beginning—like @TopModel or @GoldenLegend.

The reality? 70-90% of generated images contained errors. Missing "@" symbols, garbled letters, inconsistent styling. Each image in this collection represents a successful generation—the result of dozens, sometimes hundreds, of attempts.

The Prompt Engineering Process

AI-Assisted Prompt Generation

I used ChatGPT and other AI assistants to generate multiple prompt variations. By feeding specific instructions like "give me 10 variations of a prompt for a 3D glowing neon text that says '@Username' with futuristic elements," I could rapidly iterate on different approaches.

Multi-Generator Testing

Each prompt was tested across multiple AI image generators; Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, and others. Different models had varying success rates with typography, so diversifying the approach was crucial.

The "@" Symbol Challenge

The most frustrating issue: AI generators consistently failed to render the "@" symbol correctly. Techniques like "the at symbol followed by the word" or explicitly describing the character were used to increase success rates.

Curating Excellence

From thousands of generations, only these that I have selected demonstrate excellent typography, stunning visuals, and that correctly-rendered "@" symbol.
